Running Around Town Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up early. Just wanted to be sure to be up when Debbie came. We were going to go to the museum to check on quilts, then to McMenamins for donations.

Debbie arrived around 11 am. We headed to Dutch Brothers for our drinks. Then we went to the bank before heading to the museum. We figured we have 9 quilts for January and 6 quilts for February so far. Had to let Carol know how many we had to be able to set up awards. Then we headed over to the pub in Centralia that has ...

Quilt Finish: S’mores from Jo's Country Junction

I finally finished my Smores quilt. It was a fun one. It’s been on my UFO list for several years. It all started because a blog reader gifted this to me. It really wasn’t a lot…but it was enough for me to be intrigued enough to walk to the computer and type in “smores quilt”. …

Another Quiet Day - But Did Crochet from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and dressed. I played my game for awhile and then one of the gals from another "alliance" got on her high horse and had me blackballed. So, It wouldn't matter how I played in that kingdom, I would be attacked. No one would take me. All over one comment about her changing her name and not letting me get horses. I was literally bullied out of the game. So, I deleted my 3 accounts and I will go to another kingdom that doesn't have to put up with one person taking over a ...

Another Finish from Quilting My Way

This morning we woke to rain and wind. I woke to the wind in the middle of the night.

I got the bread going for baking in the afternoon.  I also worked on my notes for tomorrow's meeting.  Think I am ready now but very nervous.  It is what it is.

Then I worked on my ornament.

I now have both ornaments done. Made my day to get another "project" done. The gold holders will be coming in a few days. This is just for now, it may change later.

Beading Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I started laundry and headed out walking. I am keep 7 laps so far.

Came back in, playing my games then got my ornament out and worked on getting one done.

I had a hard time working on what beads will be used for the tassells. I even forgot where I put my box of the old jewelry beads. Took me awhile to find them.

Baking And Beading from Quilting My Way

Patrick and I slept in. It felt good to sleep in.  It was raining this morning.

We watched a couple of old movies.  I baked Date Bars. They turned out really good.

Then I decided I needed to fix my bracelet.

I fixed the problem and when I was done, realized I made it too big. It doesn't fit now.

Getting Ready For My New Washer from Quilting My Way

Patrick went golfing today. I walked 7 laps on my own, listening to my books on tape.  I enjoyed getting lost in my books.

I helped Patrick move the dryer out of the laundry room. It turned out easier than I expected.  The washer is heavy. At least we asked them to take the washer away when they come. We only had to move it for easy access.

The dryer is in the dining room right now.

I played my games today.

Then remembered I needed to get the certificates done for tomorrow.  Got word today that 2 of them ...

Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

This morning,  Patrick loaded the car with the 18 quilts to go to the museum. I had everything ready to go.

Before leaving,  I wanted to get labels on the 2 quilts in the bedroom.  I went downstairs and sewed 3 labels. Came upstairs and got started.

Joanne Wisner made this one and Connie quilted it.

This quilt was done by the same volunteer from yesterday.  I need to pay more attention to who made these to post their names. I do love this quilt. The quilt was given out today.

These are the ones we honored with quilts today ...

Lazy Day With Beading from Quilting My Way

This morning,  I slept on. Then playing games.  My lunch was canceled so didn't go anywhere.

Ron and I walked 5 laps. He couldn't do any more.  Patrick went to his coffee chat. He meets up with his other City workers that retired when he did.

I got my certificates done for Saturday.  Then I cut backing and batting for Colleen.  I found the foot peddle for the sewing machine.

Then when he got home it was being lazy. We didn't even have the TV on. He picked up a roasted chicken for us. It was pretty ...

Getting Back On Track from Quilting My Way

This morning,  I was up early.  Had to get my stuff together for our meeting. Patrick was up and got the veggies from the garden for me to take to mom and the gals.

I headed to the PO to drop off my recycling stuff for Oral B. Found out I needed to go to Staples because the label was for UPS. I ended up waiting 10 mins before I could hand it over.

Arrived to find Alice and Sandy there. Gave Sandy the kits I got fir her and the porcupine quills.

I was able to get this much ...

Quilt Finish: Jasper’s Preschool Quilt from Jo's Country Junction

Whew. Rosie and I are so glad we made the deadline. About a month ago my daughter Kayla told me that her son Jasper needed a preschool blanket and she was wondering if I would make a quilt for Jasper. Well I did what all grandma quilters do, I said “sure”. Kayla requested something Iowa …

Day With A Friend from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick wasn't doing that good. So, I went walking with Ron. We got in a good 6 laps.

Then I came in and got ready to go with Debbie for coffee. Even though I drink tea. We sat and chatted for a while. She had a bad day yesterday. So, we talked about a lot of different stuff. Had a good visit and I really enjoyed it. We have a good time when we do that.

Came home and we looked for another plan on her quilt top. Patrick helped out. The top is really pretty. It ...

Got To Work Today! from Quilting My Way

This morning Katt called. So, Ron and I didn't go walking. He had family coming and I was messing with my game. I needed to get the entries to the fair done as well. I'm ready to take them in this week.

After things calmed down in the game, I headed downstairs to get a few things done. Once I got started, I kept going. First, I cut backing and batting for 2 quilts. Then I washed the backings. I have those ready to go to Colleen along with some panels.

Once all that was done, I decided ...

Dinner With Family from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was busy playing my games as well as working on dessert for Patrick. I cleaned up the kitchen, because it was driving me crazy how everything is piling up. I hate kitchens that have a lot of stuff in the sink or by it, as well as appliances all over the counter. So, I got my rear in gear and put a lot of stuff away. Dishwasher was emptied (that's almost daily lately), and the kitchen was back to being open and enjoyable to walk in.

Before I could start, Ron called and wanted to walk ...

Getting Ready For Thursday from Quilting My Way

Today I was up and enjoying the morning. Patrick left for golfing.

I went walking with Ron and made it 5 laps. He wasn't doing so good today on the walking. We won't be walking again till Saturday between what he's doing and what I'm doing.

It was time to get the quilts ready for Thursday.

After picking blueberries, I wanted to get the quilts done with labels. This one was done by Connie, I think. I had a couple quilts from volunteers. I know Connie quilted this and it might have been done by Cathy ...

Day For Embroidery from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and out the door. Patrick picked some veggies from the garden to give to Sandy and Geralyn. When I got there, I had some stuff to put in the clothing box. Sandy had texted me that the swat team was there. I thought she was joking. After dropping the clothes in the box, I headed around the building to park. They were there in front of the grange. They stayed for another 10 mins after I went into the grange. We watched as they pulled out and headed up Zenkner Valley (where we used to ...

Quilt Finish: The Coin Quilts from Jo's Country Junction

Some time ago…a blog reader sent me a lot of parts and pieces of quilts. In the mix were some “bricks” that were already cut. I call a brick a piece of scrap which is 4 1/2″ by 2 1/2″. Some of them were in a stack and some were sewn together into twosies. I …

Trying To Stay Cool - And Still Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning, I went out early to pick blueberries. I was able to get 4 cups. I didn't clean them up yet, but I will tomorrow.

After that, Ron called, and I told him we would wait till later today. By that time, it would be cooler - so I thought. We reached 106 degrees at 6 pm - so I know we were closer to 110 degrees today. When he did call at 7:30 pm, it was still too hot to go walking. Told him we will wait till Thursday to go out and walk.

I headed downstairs. I ...
